The Trouble Troopers
The Trouble Troopers is an adventure story for middle-grade readers
who love a good prank and some exciting adventure.

Let's hope my writing skills are better than my drawing skills, right?
About the Trouble Troopers
Eleven-year-old Oliver is ready for summer holiday fun with his best friend when disaster strikes. His parents declare they’re ‘taking a break’ from one another and a disgruntled Oliver finds himself dragged by his dad to a rotten holiday park.
With no television, no internet and, worst of all, no best friend, Oliver is certain his holiday is doomed.
Things look up when Oliver meets the feisty, prank-loving Beth and good-natured Rohail, two long-term residents with a talent for helping him escape the cabin undetected. The trio form a secret club, the Trouble Troopers, complete with cheeky recruitment challenges, a hidden den and a simple agenda: to create as much mayhem in the park as possible.
But the Trouble Troopers soon realise they’re not the only ones up to mischief in the holiday park. There are odd goings on, with people burying mysterious objects and skulking around with flashlights in the middle of the night.
Sounds like an exciting story? You bet it is!

Did you know...
… I started working on the Trouble Troopers while I lived in Belgium, so the first few chapters were written in Dutch.
… in Dutch, the children had different names. Oliver was Joris and Rohail was Bram.
… Beth was originally Tiffany and she wanted to be called Ti. This would sound a bit weird in English!
… now Tiffany is the name of Beth’s older sister. Don’t you dare call her Ti, she likes the name Tiffany! (Beth thinks it’s a boring name)
… before I start writing a story, I make drawings of the characters and the scenes. I usually have a notebook full of drawings and doodles before I actually start writing.
… that doesn’t mean the drawings are any good! LOL
